Through a Woman's Lens: A Lecture by J. Sybylla Smith

Smith's article in ZEKE magazine illustrates the myriad ways in which women photographers have always been in the picture despite historically inequitable access—seeking truth, bearing witness and making invaluable contributions. She looks back to reclaim history and honor the creative strategies of these women. She also looks at innovative storytelling by contemporary women whose practices illustrate how seeing the world through a woman’s lens concurrently informs and transforms photojournalism and our understanding of the truth.

This family-friendly holiday extravaganza, created and directed by Patrick Dorow, has been a tradition in New England for the past 7 years! Paying homage to the classic holidays specials, and true to a Broadway production style, with full set, costumes and dance, this high-energy, fast-paced show includes original vocal arrangements and medleys of nearly 50 holiday songs, appealing to all ages. The show takes place in a simpler time with families coming together for an annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party at a City Loft, gathering around a piano, for a good, old-fashioned holiday sing-along.  So, get your ugly holiday sweater out of mothballs or don your Holiday best and join the festivities. Either way, you are in for a treat!

Glenn Miller Orchestra

The first Glenn Miller Orchestra did not make it at all. It was a total and absolute economic failure. But Glenn knew what he wanted, held to that dedication and relentlessly worked to succeed. He launched his second band in March of 1938. The Glenn Miller Orchestra has been a “hit” ever since.
